Happy New Year and Happy Birthday to Me!!!!

Well, I would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year and many blessings for 2009. I am looking forward to this year and hoping it will prove to be a better year for our family than this past year. Not that I haven't been blessed because I have been blessed beyond words. We have just been challenged more this year than ever. But by the grace of God and having faith that He will bring us through was enough for me. But you know we always think or wish things were better than we have it when there is always someone out there that has more difficult challenges than we do. For instance a blog that I follow over at http://ashleyadamsjournal.blogspot.com/, is about this sweet little girl that struggles with rejections from a bowel transplant. If you have a chance please say a prayer for this precious little girl and her family. Her mother is by far one of the strongest women "I know". Then there is the blog that I follow over at He will carry me at http://sgirl79.blogspot.com/ where this sweet couple has suffered the loss of their first child. Their faith has carried them through this difficult time in their lives. I could go on and on but I just wanted everyone to know that I am grateful and thankful for all the blessings that He bestows upon us. But being the human that I am, I seem to find things that "could" be better when in reality I couldn't be more blessed.

Now on to New Years Day which happens to be my birthday. I don't really get into celebrating my birthday because I just don't require all the hoohaw.... but it is nice to be remembered by a "Happy Birthday" from my sweet children and other family. That is all that matters to me. I do love to have a celebration for my children's birthdays to let them know how much we love them and how special they are to me. My boogs (hubby) always requires a cake if nothing else. I'm not really a cake person unless it comes from Pulix. I love their cakes!!! YUMMMY!!!
So tomorrow I will be very happy and content to be home, relax, drink my coffee and maybe read a book. How about you?? How do you celebrate your birthday??

Kudos to Purrfect Designs

I just wanted to give a great big ole KUDOS to Purrfect Designs for designing my first blog for me. I guess it helps that Patrice is my Cuz. So Patrice, you know I love you and you did a fabulous job. I think I will treat you to lunch one day soon.

I'm Gonna Be A MeMe!!! Let's do the Happy Dance???

Yes, I know you are thinking big whoop, that there are lots of people going to be MeMe's out there but I am just so darn excited I can't stand it. You see I thought my oldest daughter would be the first to bless us with a grandbaby (my hubby has always told me it would be the middle daughter, Ashley). (Well boogs, you were right.) He does know our children. Anyway, We are extremely happy and can't wait till he/she gets here somewhere around mid July.



Anyway, I guess I will tell you a little about my family. Me and my Boogs (Lee) have been married for 25 and 1/2 years. But we had a 5 year break along the way so some people don't count those 5 years but I do. Before the 5 year break we had 2 daughters April who is 24 and Ashley is 22. After this little break we had our little surprise Victoria, who is 10. And then along comes our 4th daughter Breeann. She is 18. She officially came along during the 5 year break. The mom called us out of the blue and asked when we could come and get her. I told her we would be there the next day and that's when we began to fall in love with our 4th daughter, Breeann. She has been so easy for me to love as my own. I didn't know what to expect when she came here to live and I'm sure she was scared to death. But we have had a ball getting to know her and I hope she feels the love that any child deserves to feel.



So, all my girls are different in personality. So that would be a post for another day. I do have 4 of them, it could take all day.

Marley & Me plus April = lots of laughs

We went to see the movie Marley & Me with my daughter April and her husband Brandon on Friday after Christmas. Well, needless to say the movie was great, sad and turned into hilarious before the ending. Now if you have seen the movie you are probably thinking that I am not very sensitive to animals. But really I am!!!! But during one of the sad scenes where you would expect one to be crying, I ended up laughing. YES LAUGHING!!!! April was crying so loud and sniffing that I couldn't even have my crying moment and I started laughing because she was crying so hard. So I tried to make my laugh sound like a really loud cry, but somehow I don't think the family in front of us bought it. They turned around and gave us the (I can't believe you would laugh during a scene like this) look. Anyway, the movie was great and I am really a sensitive person to animals. The family in front of us probably had a fun conversation on their way out.
But, fun was had by all so that's all that matters. A little family time with my oldest daughter and her husband that I don't get to see to often.
