44

WOW!!!! I can't believe that I will be 44 years old this week. I can say that I feel like I have been blessed through these past 44 years. I may not be monetary "wealthy" or have a lot of material things but I feel like I am rich with blessings that my Savior has given me.

He has given me the chance to be His child at no cost, He has given me a wonderful and loving husband, children and grandchildren, He has given me a wonderful mom that I miss so much and who happens to be my HERO!!! And He has given me sisters who I love and miss dearly every single day. He has given me a dad that I love despite our challenging childhood. He has given me a great mother-in-law, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, He has given me a safe home to live in, He has given my hubby a great job, He has given me LOVE......

So on January 1, 2010 I will be 44 years old and as I reflect back on all those 44 years I want to be thankful for all that I have and all that I have been given.

Hope everyone has a very Happy New Year and you are abundantly blessed throughout 2010.

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all

Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas. As we celebrated the birth of our Savior I was thanking Him for all the blessings He has given me this year. A wonderful husband and children and I have the two most adorable grandsons and one on the way, a healthy family and a home with food in the pantry.

We spent Christmas Eve going to the candle light service and then went to April's to have our family Christmas. I always love when all my family is surrounding me (we were only missing BreeAnn and Will) when we celebrate the holiday's.

It's been a while

Well it has been a while since I posted last. It has been crazy busy around our house. After we returned from our cruise it seems like I haven't stopped since. We had a great Thanksgiving and spent it at my daughter April's house and all the family was in attendance. And after that it seems that one thing after another has been going on. Just this past week we have had one mishap after another. My BIL that has a mental illness has been in and out of the hospital 3 times this past week and I think they have finally gotten him back on track. He may have some exciting plans when he gets out of the hospital so I will share about that as soon as we find out if these plans work out. So please keep him in your prayers.
I have also had these two little guys keeping me busy. Harrison is doing great! He is adjusting to his life wonderfully. We had his birthday a few weeks ago and I think he thought we were crazy! But he is so precious. He's still not to sure about us yet. I think he thinks all these extra people he has in his life are crazy. But I know he will adjust to us as well. We have been trying to help with Harrison so his mama can go to her staff meetings and I went to help with him while April got her hair cut and ran some errands the other day. He is definitely a mover and a shaker. He likes to be on the go.

And then I have Tuff and he keeps MeMe and Papa busy as well. He's not to sure about Harrison yet but I know they will be best buds before to long. Tuff fell asleep at Harrison's birthday party so we didn't get him in the picture with all the other kids. He had a stomach bug this past Friday then his mama and daddy got the bug the next day so they were all sick over the weekend. I am just so blessed with these two sweet boys. And then I will be blessed again next year. So I will be one busy MeMe. Now for some Christmas blessings......

Hope you all have a Merry Christmas......

Carribean Cruise Part 1

Well, we finally made it home from our cruise on Sunday and boy was I ever ready to get home. I had a great time but that was the first time I have been away from my hubby and kids and not been able to talk to them. I could have called but the cost was high and also it probably would have taken a master's degree to figure out how to dial out internationally. LOL.

Me and my MIL met up with her sister Mary and hubby Doc in New Orleans on Saturday afternoon, then boarded the ship on Sunday morning.
This was the first thing I saw when we arrived in Downtown New Orleans. I just had to take a pic.

MIL with her sister Mary and hubby Doc at Mother's restruant for breakfast

This was outside our hotel.

Me, MIL, and Aunt Mary on my first Trolley ride.

Our first stop was Costa Maya, which is a small part of Mexico and seemed to be very poor. We took a golf cart ride around the island and I got some really great pics.

Then we headed to Guatemala and I will have to say that I don't think I want to go back. It is a very poor country and very sad. My favorite part was getting to see the little children come up to our boat in their handmade canoes. We went down the Rio Dulce river and this is where the poorest people live. Then ended up in the town of Livingston and I was a little scared but was very humbled by how they live.

These children were so small. I could never imagine my little one riding around in a canoe at that age without me.....Loved the parrot on the front of their canoe. Their seem to enjoy the simple things in life.....
This little girl touched my heart. She was so sweet and she never really smiled a real smile, you know the smile that comes through your eyes....I wished I could have brought her home with me.

Fishing for Tilapia.... Isn't that green water just amazing??? I couldn't get over it.

Well that is the first half of our week. Me and my MIL played cards everyday (she taught me how to play Canasta). Then we would just sit out on the deck and watch the ocean. We met the nicest lady, Vivian, and just fell in love with her. I meant to get a pic but for some reason didn't get around to it. She would ask everyday how April and Brandon were doing and loved hearing about all of our family. We just hit it off and I will always remember her. So Vivian, if you are reading this, hope you and your hubby made it home safely and I hope one day we can meet up again. So Ms. Vivian, if you are visiting my blog please leave me a comment in the comment section at the end of this post with an email address so maybe we can keep in touch.
Stay tuned for the 2nd half of our week.........

Thankfulness

Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving filled with lots of love, family and of course, food! I had one of the best Thanksgivings I have ever had and I have so much to be thankful for this year.

1. My daughter, April and her husband had a safe trip home from Taiwan with our new grandson Harrison, in which I was still on my cruise at the time. But he is just perfect!!!! I went over on Monday and spent about an hour with him and then had dinner with him for his first Thanksgiving.

2. I had all my immediate family and my MIL, SIL, and BIL to celebrate with.

3. I have the BEST hubby I could ever ask for.

4. I finally got a pic of all 4 of the girls together. Ha!

5. Hubby's job

6. and most important, my Jesus!! None of this could be possible without Him!!

That's just a few of the things that I am blessed with everyday. I could go on and on but I'm sure that would take all day.

Harrison loved wearing Will's hat.

Looking Back.....

I have been thinking a lot lately about when I first got pregnant with my first daughter April. I was so young and had no idea what to do to prepare my 18 year old self for a baby. Me and Boogs didn't have a "pot to pee in" as they say. But by the grace of God we became parents to a sweet newborn baby, that we just had to learn as we went to take care of our new bundle of joy. Our whole outlook on life changed in an instant! Our life revolved around taking care of and loving this new baby. We had no time to think of anything else. Looking back now I wonder how we did it. We lived in a one room studio apt. that had a bathroom and a kitchenette but somehow that was enough at that time. I don't even remember wondering to myself if we would ever live anywhere bigger! We were surrounded by family and that seemed to be enough at the time. But of course we did move to a bigger place and we did have another baby and then we went through some pretty difficult times, divorced and then our Mighty God brought us back together. I know that our journey was tough and I used to be embarassed to tell our story but as I have grown older I feel like it's a love story and I don't care who knows about it and I want to tell the world!!!!

I guess all this has been on my mind so much because BreeAnn will be having a baby of her own soon and she will be going through something similar to what me and her daddy went through and what I mean by that is that she is so young. I know her world has been turned upside down in an instant. I pray she never gives up. I want to encourage her to always focus on her little family, to lean on God to get her through tough days and to always make it her priority. I lost my focus on my marriage and just didn't want to work hard at it and gave up to easily. I pray that she and Will not let "giving up" or "failure" be an option, that they will always dig deep and remember what brought their sweet family together.

April and Brandon will be traveling next week to Taiwan to meet their son, our grandson Harrison and bring him home for us to have the chance to show him all the love that our family will be showering him with. It is so surreal to me that my first daughter will be a mother to this sweet boy. I so remember so well the day she was born. When they handed her to her daddy she was wide eyed and looking around then sneezed. It was just like she was excited to be in this world and couldn't wait to explore. And that is just how she is today. She loves to explore, loves to learn, and loves everyone!!! I have said so many times that I wonder who and where she got all that energy from!! So, April I love you so much and you have made me and daddy very proud. We may not have had a lot of material things while you were growing up but I hope that you felt the love that we have for you. I pray that you and Brandon have a safe flight over and that when you meet sweet Harrison that you will feel all that love that we had and have for you. Be safe and I love you very much.

I know I take my husband for granted sometimes and I know I don't do this on purpose. I am so lucky to have a husband that is selfless, encouraging, patient and most of all loving. He is a great dad and papa, a hard worker and loves life. I love him more today than ever!! We may not have much in the way of material things but what God gives us everyday in blessings with such great and loving children and grandchildren, our home, job, and the best gift all, of knowing that we all have the chance to to be or become one of His children at no cost is enough.

So I lift up all my children to Him and ask that He will watch over and protect them during their exciting new journey that He is taking them on because all my chilren are on journeys right now and I hope they will take advantage and make it count so one day they can all look back and say " Wow I made it!!! I made a difference!!!!! And my life has meaning!!!! And I never gave up!!! What a story that will be for my grandchildren one day.

Ok, I'm gonna post this now. I feel like it's all over the place but it's my blog so here goes.......

It's Almost That Time

Well, in 2 weeks I will be leaving, with my MIL, for my very first ever....CRUISE!!!! I am trying to be excited. Really, I am but I am feeling a tiny bit guilty, nervous, and excitement. Guilty because my boogs is not going to get to go and a cruise is his dream vacation. So I will be a little lost and sad without him. Nervous because I am not so sure about being out in the middle of an ocean with no land in sight and excitement because I have never been on such a vacation. Our vacations are always in Florida with my family. This is such a nice gift from my MIL's sister, Aunt Mary. I am so grateful and appreciative of her and her hubby for doing this, for my MIL especially. It is actually a trip for my MIL from Aunt Mary but as an added bonus she told her to invite someone to come with her. So that someone being me since boogs couldn't get off work and neither could SIL.
So please pray that we will all have a great time with no sinking of our ship. Ha!

Also, April and Brandon will be going to Taiwan to get our grandson Harrison sometime this month and I am pretty sure I will not be back for his homecoming and I am really sad about that. Harrison is now officially theirs and they are just waiting on the courts to give them a date for Harrison's visa appointment ( i think that's what it's called) so they can make their travel arrangements. Please pray that they will have a safe trip there and back and while they are in Taiwan.

Tuff is growing so fast....he stayed home with his daddy today and I get a video txt message of him walking around in a walker!!!!! What's up with that??? He is only 3 1/2 months old for goodness sake!!! (SEE VIDEO BELOW) I just can't believe that grand babies grow just as fast as our own kids do. I just love having him here each day and look forward to having Harrison and BreeAnn's baby too. We go next Friday to here the heartbeat so pray that visit goes well. Of course we won't know if she will have a boy or girl until December or January. I am thinking January. That will give me some time to prepare for having 3 babies at once.

I am in the process of re-doing Victoria's room so I will have to post pics when I'm done. It has been a slow process since I have Tuff during the day and getting ready for my trip so it may take another month or so to get it completed since I am refinishing her furniture also.

That's about all that has been happening around our house lately. Hope everyone has a blessed day:0)

A Few Birthday Celebrations And Other News!!

Well since it has been a while since I last posted I thought I would do a few posts in one.
A Harrison update: There have been two major hearings in the last month and one more to go and it should take place next week and then April and Brandon should have their travel dates soon after that. So we are hoping that we will have Harrison home by Thanksgiving. So your prayers for Harrison to be united with his mommy and daddy by then would be grateful. We are all very anxious and excited to meet him and have him be a part of our family.

Tuff turned 3 months old on the 14th and he is growing like a weed. I don't remember my own babies growing this fast! Time sure does fly when it's your grand baby.
So what has he been up to? Well, he eats 6 oz every 5 or so hours with a little cereal that we have started feeding him with a spoon. He wasn't to sure about that at first but I think he is catching on. He is sleeping all night except to get up to eat and then goes back to sleep. He weighs 15 lbs. He is laughing, squealing, and kicking his feet like crazy. He loves for his papa to walk him to sleep when it's nap time. He knows the difference between me and papa walking him. He only wants papa at nap time. He is sitting up in his bumbo sit really good, loves his bouncy seat and also loves his exersaucer.

I am loving having him here everyday and look forward to when Harrison comes home so they can be playmates.

Speaking of playmates!!! We are going to be having another grand baby in May 2010. Our Rebel is now 7 weeks pregnant and we were all a little shocked but we are excited and anticipating the arrival of another sweet baby to add to our family. That means I will be one busy MeMe. So please pray that all goes well with her pregnancy and that we will have a healthy baby.

This past weekend we celebrated Jordan's birthday with all the family. We had a great time and enjoyed playing a game of cranium and had great food and best of all "The Cake". Happy Birthday Jordan, we love you!!

Hope everyone has a blessed day!!!
